Matt Peiken, creator and host of the Overlook (local Asheville news podcast), held a premiere live podcasting event at the downtown Wortham Center for the Arts interviewing: local artists The Resonant Rogues, local reparation commitments committee, & the Music Director of the Asheville Symphony Orchestra.

I discovered Matt’s podcast while living in Asheville during summer 2023, escaping the heat in Austin. I appreciated his intentional inclusion of topics like:

• local government and public policy

• minority communities & local progress on racial reparations,

• affordable housing & homelessness

• artists creating original work (music, literature, visual arts, theatre/dance)
